What is
the Frio Canyon?
The Frio Canyon refers to the River Canyon area in Real and Uvalde Counties that is home to the beautiful Frio River. A clear, spring fed
river, the Frio is appropriately named for the cool water that flows into the river from more than 1100 springs. You will find three small
towns in the Frio Canyon-Leakey, Rio Frio and Concan. Uvalde is also nearby. For more information about the area, contact the Frio Canyon
Chamber of Commerce.
The Lodge is located in downtown Leakey at the intersections (NE Corner) of Hwy 83 and 337 - just 1/2 mile from the Frio
River. The one-story property comprises an entire city block and is built in an "L" shape with all the rooms opening to the central courtyard
and pavilion. All of our rooms are non-smoking and your pets are most welcome.
The Frio Canyon Lodge is a small, intimate property with 10 comfortable rooms. Five of the rooms have King size beds and
the other 5 rooms have two extra-long Double size beds. Each room has its own distinct look and furnishings. Two pairs of rooms have connecting
doors that can work nicely for families or friends traveling together.
The
Restaurant at the Lodge - one of the most popular restaurants in the region - features several specialties as well
as classic American and Texas favorites. Open six days a week during the Summer season, the restaurant is open Thursday - Sunday
all other times of the year.
Beautifully landscaped, the grounds at the Lodge provide spaces to enjoy the outdoors. Read a good book on the shaded
Pavilion or relax in one of the porch swings or hammocks. Throw a frisbee or football in the courtyard or stroll by the landscaped beds
to study the unique collection of plants.
The Swimming Pool is a refreshing place to enjoy the water and sun. The pool is open to Lodge patrons and guests until
10:00 pm each day.
