Catlin Rutherford
    "I was inspired by music at a very young age. My parents owned and operated a dance hall in Uvalde, Texas called the Purple Sage. Many of the great names in country music like Ernest Tubb, Steve Wariner, George Strait, and Keith Whitley, to name a few, have played at my parent's venue. I began playing guitar when I was ten years old. While attending high school I was involved with many working bands playing bars and clubs in the Uvalde area. In 2003 I won the Farm Bureau State Talent Find competition with an instrumental medley of "Classical Gas/Day Tripper/Lady Madonna." I have performed in many bands covering genres of country, rock, blues, and bluegrass. I play lead guitar for an Austin based Country/Bluegrass band called The Doolins while also persuing my solo instrumental career."
